Swiss watchmaking October 2012: Back on a par with the yearly average

Following the slight downturn in September (since adjusted to -1.5%) watch exports quickly returned to their customary rate. They registered an increase of 13.2% in October, reaching the two billion franc mark (2.1 billion). The variation of the cumulative result was unchanged, remaining static at +13.7% for the first ten months of the year.

The autumn sales in Geneva: Antiquorum

Always first off the (auctioneer's) block, Antiquorum opened the season with a sale of 613 lots on Sunday November 11th. Bidders filled the Grand Salon at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel du Rhône for the full seven hours of the sale, with the room emptying slightly only during the last half-hour: regrettably for the Cartier clocks and watches that didn't find a taker. The sale realised a total CHF 8.8 million with 494 lots sold and 19% unsold.
